Robert Burns in Your Pocket

Here's the best Burns book we've found for quick use during a Burns supper. No, it doesn't have everything he ever wrote, but it does have all the classics and then some. You'll also appreciate the 50 pages about his life if you happen to be doing the Immortal Memory this year. We also appreciate the glossary that 'translates' the Gaelic into modern English and gives hints for pronouncing those difficult words. This 288 page hardcover book also includes a ribbon bookmark so you can mark the poem you'll be reading on that wonderful evening called the Burns Supper.

Thanks for the tip from Robin O, her son used this book to write a successful school paper on Robert Burns for his sophomore English class. Everyone else was writing about Shakespeare, but he choose the Scottish Bard in honor of his roots.

If you are tasked with doing the speech to the immortal or if you just want to learn who Rabie Burns was, this book is a quick read full of interesting tidbits as well as citing Burn's poetry. I was more than pleasantly surprised at how handy this book will be this year and for years to come but also full of great biographical info.
