This is my second Haggis and was not disappointed. I tried the oven method with this one but will prefer the stovetop pan steam. It was moister that way. Both were equally satisfying.
Easy to prepare and delicious. I had to "fight" my daughter-in-law for the last piece. Instead of lasting for two meals it was gone in one. ( 4 adults). Next time I will buy 2. Did not taste the whiskey, but the whiskey kept it super moist. Put a photo of it on Facebook to get the word out.
This venison version is definitely tasty. We really enjoyed it during our Burn night dinner this year. I prepared it with turnips and they even rehenced the haggis flavor.
Really good. Flavorful, mildly spicy. The Rustic, haggis fed, at the table remarked on how good it was. Gave a real celebratory feeling to the evening.
I have been a fan of haggis for over 50 years, and this is one of the best I have ever tasted. We served it last night at a dinner where five people were new to their haggis experience. They all agreed this was magnificent, and all their trepidation was unnecessary. Excellent aroma and flavors.

Superb! Venison is an excellent, equally traditional meat choice along with lamb and beef.
The Royal Hunter Haggis with venison and whisky was pretty good. The service was conscientious, though as a result they ended up accidentally sending us TWO packages/orders instead of the one.
After speaking with John and his acknowledging that the mistake was theirs and that we didn't technically owe them for the second package, we agreed to split the difference and sent them a check for $40 after Christmas, which, considering that we're in Alaska, was just under half of the expense for the second accidentally sent package.
The packages arrived on the same day, the haggis was still frozen though slightly soft around the edges, allowing us to put both of them into the freezer for the next couple days, after which we ate the one and saved the second one for a future celebration of whatever sort.
The ice pack inserts in the insulated bags were still rock hard frozen when they arrived. I was impressed and put them into the colder, larger freezer, and will reuse the insert ice packs in coolers in coming trips to the bush.

After visiting Scotland and be obsessed with haggis, we have made it a Christmas tradition to order two each year and make one for breakfast Christmas morning. The Royal Haggis has been one of our favorites and it tastes amazing. Super close to what you would get in Scotland! We have never been disappointed (except when it’s all gone!) we will continue our tradition and thank you Scottish Gourmet for making that possible!
My students love celebrating Burns Night each year! This Haggis is the center piece for a traditional Scottish meal of tatties, neeps, cock-a-leaky soup, black pudding and iron brew.
My first time of ordering a Royal Haggis. It arrived still frozen and well packaged. We cooked as suggested including the special white sauce to tip it. It smelled just as I remember, and though we enjoyed it, I found it to be too spicy for our taste. We also ordered the 2 pound presentation Haggis which we have yet to try. Hopefully with a slightly different receipe, it will a bit less spicy. I'll let you all know in my next review.

I've already had the traditional haggis, and thought that I'd try this version. I actually reheated it by smoking it with oak wood, and it developed a very nice smoky flavor. I would highly recommend this, smoked or not!
