Customers praised these whole fish as "some of the finest kippers" they've tasted, noting they're "plump," "juicy," and authentically smoky. Many said they evoke nostalgic memories and are hard to find in the USA. While most loved the taste and quality, some mentioned they could be more heavily smoked, and concerns about high shipping costs, saltiness, and packaging preference.

your smoked kippers were good, but I would have preferred that they were smoked a little more than they were.
Excellent, well packed and arived on time.
Did not taste anything like I remember.
Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy the Kippers. As we have a satisfaction guarantee we have refunded you for this item. Thanks for your review and thanks for shopping with Scottish Gourmet!
Perfect for my kipper breakfast. Thanks.
These were some of the finest kippers I’ve ever tasted. I like them broiled but that does tend to make the place smell fishy but it’s well worth it!
I love kippers and these came up to expectation, thank you.
Excellent as ususl
It has become impossible to find kippers in NYC - or other cities in the USA, so I was thrilled to find these. They were quite good, though I have had better in London.
These are fantastic. Huge and juicy.
Wonderful kippers, absolutely the real thing.
Sublime. I haven't had proper kippers since I last visited England in the 1970s. These took me back and were as good, if not better, than the kippers I remember eating at my grandmother's house in London. Thank you!
Very good – excellent. just the way I remember them. You have to get these, unlikely to find anything close in US.
Whole kippers are hard to find, and these were very good.
I purchased four items and found them all to be perfect. They arrived intact, packaging was great. The foods are wonderful. I did a mini Burns’ Day on the 25th with kippers for breakfast, meat pie for lunch, grand finale of haggis. The black pudding is for another day, I’ve had it several times before and it’s the real deal.
Deliciously stinky. I absolutely love them. My roommate’s tease me about the smell.
You just can’t beat these kippers. They are so tasty and just like the ones we had growing up. I have purchased them several times now and l’m sure will continue to do so. So tasty, authentic and healthy too.
Excellent kippers. Very expensive though.
A bit smelly but I rinse these, dry them well, then bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Love to have scrambled eggs to accompany them.
The kippers were delicious.
However it would be perfect if you could separate them.
Impossible to remove one fish from the frozen block, therefore had to eat more than I really wanted to at one time
I have sent these as a gift for several years. Recipient says how flavourful and plump they are and that they always arrive well packed and undamaged. Considering how far they have to travel I think they are a real value if you like kippers.
Perfect. Just as I remember
Best kippers I have had in a long time. Very well prepared and perfect taste.
This fish arrived in Los Angeles but the fish were not frozen. They were cold but they thawed out. I refroze them and we ate two of them. They were very flavorful and meaty.
Just as I remember them when I lived in England, Perfect!
Delightful. Just how it should be.
Beware, these are very salty and the bones didn’t separate out very well. Felt like the fish were on the raw side, not fully smoked or processed, or whatever. I could not eat them.
I will definitely purchase the fresh kippers again. I have been searching to buy Scottish Kippers for a long time and was thrilled when they arrived vacuum packed and still ice cold. The kippers were delicious. Thank you.
I loved the kippers. They reminded me of times long past and times more recent.
I love smoked fresh kippers. The ones I received were vacuum packed, shipped well and still frozen. The one I cooked was superb . I will definitely be ordering again. I and my tastebuds THANK YOU!

I sent these to a friend to lift his spirits after a very rough year. I know that there was a big smile on his face when they arrived.
