Walkers Mince Pies - six per box

In Scotland, this is an after dinner treat on Christmas Day. Walkers of Aberlour uses a classic mincemeat recipe with apples, currants, sultanas, spices, candied citrus peels, sugar - and the flaky pastry crust made from wheat flour, vegetable oil, sugar, salt and a touch of powdered skim milk. Your guests will snap these up whenever you serve them, at tea, for Thanksgiving, Christmas or Hogmanay. Reheat in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or remove them from their mini tart pans to microwave for 15-20 seconds. 13.1 oz box holds six tarts.

I usually make my own mince pies using British mince but as I’m aging and not as interested in making my own I decided to take a chance and order these. I was pleasantly surprised to find them to be delicious and the buttery pastry Devine. I will definitely be ordering more each Holiday season.

These little mince pies are very tasty, and they seem to hold up well to being microwaved. 10-15 sec is more than enough for one pie if you have a current-style microwave (which is going to be at least 1000 watts). The instructions only mention times for up to an 850 watt mw oven. Experiment, because it is very easy to heat them for too long, and end up eating some delicious mince LAVA...:-). That being said, I'm glad to have found these little treats!
