Nigella Lawson has been a kitchen deity in our house ever since we got our oven mitts on a copy of How to Be A Domestic Goddess, probably, um, over a quarter century ago! Her cooking shows were always excellent, with a special emphasis on the sensual pleasures of cooking and eating. She has a special talent for making the sometimes-sloppy business of food-prep -- all that chopping, stirring, scooping, folding, and prodding -- to seem fun, cozy, intimate and even joyous. (Her simple mini meatballs were a long-standing favorite in our home, for kids and adults.)
We were excited to learn that Lawson will be a judge on the food-TV juggernaut The Great British Baking Show. (Lawson is replacing Prue Leith.)
